Mercy Chinwo is a Nigerian gospel artist, minister, songwriter and actress who is recognised among the best Nigerian vocalists. She was featured in the 2013 House of Gold film alongside Yvonne Nelson, Majid Michael and Omawumi. Mercy Chinwo’s biggest hits include Bor Ekom, Excess Love and Akamdinelu.
Early Life
Her complete name is Mercy Nnenda Chinwo, she was born on 5th of September 1991 in River State. Mercy Chinwo started singing in her church choir when she was only eight years old, she got famous through her participation in the Nigerian music talent show, ‘Nigerian Idol’ which she contested on the second season of the show that took place in 2012 and she was declared the winner, this was the beginning of her career success in music industry.
Mercy Chinwo got her first school leaving certificate at the Goodwill International School and her secondary school education at Paradise International School. She attended the prestigious University of Port Harcourt where she bagged a degree in Linguistics and communication studies.
Marriage
Mercy Chinwo is happily married to Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa of The Water Brook Church in Lekki, Lagos State, Nigeria.
Pastor Blessed is a Microsoft Certified IT Professional with Stanford University in London and has an Advanced Project Management Certificate. He also works with AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals.
