Early Life and Education
Adedamola Oyinlola Adefolahan is a native of Ogun State in the South West region, born 5 February 1996, into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Adefolahan. He was born and raised in the ancient Yoruba city of Abeokuta and attended both his primary and secondary school education there.
He grew up with his parents and siblings. Fireboy DML furthered his education in the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Ile-Ife, Osun State, where he studied English and graduated in 2017 after earning a Bachelor in Arts (BA). While studying at the institution, he was also developing interest in music.
Career Journey
Fireboy DML’s music journey started while he was still an undergraduate, he wrote songs and recorded them in a studio around the school’s campus. With time, he became part of the institution’s emerging artists, including the likes of rappers and singer.
His breakthrough came when he met with Olamide with his single “Jealous”, the song got great numbers on radio and received massive airplay across stations on a daily basis. YBNL record’s founder, Olamide, was impressed by his sound and songwriting ability and decided to sign him.He did a follow-up single on the 14th of June 2019, and was titled “What If I Say”. It’s music video was shot and directed by TG Omori.

The song, which had been dropped on the 1st Of August 2019, had its music video being directed by TG Omori.After months of dedication in the studio, Fireboy DML wrapped up his debut studio album and dropped “Laughter, Tears, and Goosebumps” on November 29, 2019, to both critical acclaim and commercial triumph.
