Majeeed is known for his Afrofusion and Afropop musical style and he primarily uses his vocals as an instrument.

Early Life and Education

Ekeh Chiaka Joseph, professionally known as Majeeed, is a native of Imo State located in the south eastern part of Nigeria, he was born on November 28, 1998, into the family of Nze Oliver and Nze Grace. He had his primary education at Iyana Ipaja, in Lagos State and relocated to Ogun State at the age of 8, where he had his secondary education. Majeeed furthered his education at Iscom University Benin, located in Cotonou, where he graduated with a B.Sc in Mass Communication.

During an interview which took place on the 6 of February, 2022, he shared that his music journey started when he was in JSS2, a junior secondary school in Nigeria. He used to collect money from his mother to go to the studio and make music.

Career Journey

Majeeed started his career journey as a songwriter to a female musician whose name is Seyi Shay. In 2020, his two singles “Gee for Life” and “Rocky Lo” which featured Seyi Shay, were put for promotion.  On February 19, 2021, he released his first single “Time” from his Bitter Sweet EP. The song reached number 8 in Nigerian Apple Music and number 10 in Mauritius. 

He was signed into the “Dream Empire Music” on the 20^th of August, 2021. In 2022, he started his music career fully when he released his debut EP. After the release of his hit song which he titled “Yawa No Dey End”, he became very popular and led him to do a remix to the song featuring Joeboy in Collaboration through emPawa. Majeeed is known for his ability to mix Afrobeats.

On May 3, 2022, he was celebrated as one of the Native’s most promising New Artists.
